NSCDC Arrested 4,677 Suspects, Generated ₦4.5bn Under My Leadership — Outgoing CG Audi
The outgoing Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has outlined key achievements recorded by the agency during his tenure, highlighting significant strides in security enforcement and revenue generation.
Speaking as he prepares to leave office, Audi revealed that the Corps arrested 4,677 suspects across various operations nationwide while also generating over ₦4.5 billion in revenue.
According to the outgoing CG, the arrests were made in connection with a range of offences including; oil theft, pipeline vandalism, illegal mining, Infrastructure sabotage and other security-related crimes
These operations formed part of the NSCDC’s mandate to protect critical national assets and maintain internal security across the country.
Audi also disclosed that the Corps generated more than ₦4.4 billion during his administration through regulatory and enforcement activities.
The revenue was reportedly derived from:
Licensing processes, compliance monitoring, enforcement of operational standards in sectors under NSCDC supervision
This marks one of the highest internally generated revenue figures recorded by the agency in recent years.
In what he described as one of the most impactful achievements of his tenure, Audi stated that the Corps successfully thwarted 48 planned school kidnapping attempts.
Nigeria has faced growing threats of mass abductions targeting educational institutions in recent years, making the prevention of such incidents a critical priority for security agencies.
The NSCDC’s Safe Schools initiative and intelligence-led operations were credited for the successful disruption of these threats.

Under Audi’s leadership, the Corps expanded its role in safeguarding; Critical infrastructure, mining sites, oil pipelines, and public institutions.
Observers note that these interventions have helped reduce vulnerabilities in sectors often targeted by criminal networks.
As Audi exits office, his reported scorecard highlights a tenure focused on enforcement, prevention, and institutional strengthening.
Security analysts say the challenge now lies in sustaining these gains, particularly in areas such as:
Asset protection, anti-vandalism operations and
School safety
The incoming leadership will be expected to build on these achievements as Nigeria continues to confront evolving security threats.
