EFCC Chairman Ola Olukayode Denies Any Involvement in Fraud, Says Record in Public Service Is Clean

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukayode, has publicly denied ever being involved in any form of fraud throughout his years in public service.

Speaking during a recent interview, Olukayode addressed growing public scrutiny around the integrity of anti-corruption institutions and the individuals leading them. He stated clearly that at no point in his career has he engaged in fraudulent activities, stressing that his professional journey has been guided by discipline, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.

According to him, holding a sensitive office such as the EFCC chairmanship naturally attracts intense attention and criticism, but he believes transparency and consistency remain the strongest defense against false narratives.

“I have never been involved in any form of fraud throughout my years in public service”, Olukayode said during.

The EFCC chairman explained that the fight against corruption cannot be selective or emotional. He noted that investigations must always be guided by facts, evidence, and legal procedures, not public pressure or assumptions.

He also highlighted that accusations—no matter how loud, do not amount to guilt unless proven by credible investigation and due process. In his words, the integrity of institutions depends not only on enforcement but also on fairness.

As debates continue, Ola Olukayode’s statement stands as a direct response to questions surrounding his personal integrity. Whether critics are satisfied or not, his position is clear: he insists that his record in public service is clean and that accountability must be anchored on facts, not speculation.
