No Extension for 2026 UTME Registration – JAMB Confirms February 26 Deadline

JAMB Confirms No Extension for 2026 UTME Registration After February 26 Deadline

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a firm warning to all prospective candidates of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME): registration will close on Thursday, February 26, and there will be no extensions under any circumstances.

In a statement released by the board, candidates were urged to complete their registration early to avoid last-minute challenges. JAMB emphasized that the deadline is strict and late registrations will not be accepted, regardless of any delays encountered.

Candidates are required to register at JAMB-accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers across the country. The registration process includes providing personal information, submitting biometric data, and obtaining an e-PIN to initiate registration. JAMB clarified that e-PIN sales also end on February 26, meaning candidates cannot start registration after that day.

The board also reminded applicants to carefully check all details during registration, including their National Identification Number (NIN) and contact information, to prevent errors that could affect their eligibility to sit for the exam.

JAMB’s insistence on a firm deadline reflects its commitment to maintaining proper planning and logistics for the examination, ensuring that all registered candidates are accommodated in the 2026 UTME cycle. Candidates are therefore advised to avoid procrastination and complete their registration well before the final date.
