NDLEA Arrests 62-Year-Old Businessman With 95 Cocaine Pellets at Kano Airport

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 62-year-old businessman at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, over an attempt to traffic cocaine to China.

The suspect was intercepted during routine screening procedures before boarding his international flight. A search conducted by NDLEA officers led to the discovery of 95 pellets of cocaine with a combined weight of 1.589 kilograms.

According to the agency, the drugs were concealed using a method commonly associated with body ingestion, a tactic frequently employed by drug traffickers to evade detection at airports.

Following the arrest, the suspect was taken into custody and placed under medical observation to ensure the safe recovery of the illicit substances. NDLEA officials confirmed that investigations have commenced to trace the origin of the drugs and identify any accomplices linked to the trafficking attempt.
