Anthony Joshua Mourns Friends Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele After Fatal Lagos Car Crash

Anthony Joshua Pays Emotional Tribute to Friends Killed in Lagos Car Crash

British heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua has paid a heartfelt tribute to his close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, following their tragic deaths in a car crash near Lagos, Nigeria.

Joshua, who was involved in the accident, has since returned to the United Kingdom after attending the funerals of both men. The boxer sustained only minor injuries in the crash and is currently recovering.

In an emotional message shared on social media, Joshua reflected on the deep bond he shared with the late Ghami and Ayodele, describing the loss as a painful experience that extends far beyond himself.

“It’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents. I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers”, Joshua wrote.

The tribute struck a chord with fans and supporters across the world, many of whom flooded his page with messages of sympathy and encouragement. Joshua also expressed gratitude to those who reached out during the difficult period.

This marked Joshua’s second public post since the incident. Earlier, he had shared a quiet family photo alongside a portrait of Sina Ghami, offering a subtle but powerful acknowledgment of grief and remembrance.

Sources close to the situation indicate that the accident occurred near Lagos, though specific details surrounding the crash have remained limited. What is clear, however, is the profound personal impact the tragedy has had on the boxer.

Known for his strength inside the ring, Joshua’s tribute revealed a more vulnerable side, highlighting the emotional toll of sudden loss and the enduring pain faced by families left behind.

As fans continue to mourn alongside him, many have praised Joshua for honoring his friends publicly while keeping the focus on compassion, faith, and empathy for grieving parents.
