Federal Government Delegation Visits Oyo Communities After School Abduction, Promises Stronger Security Response 

A high-level Federal Government delegation has visited Esiele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State following a disturbing abduction incident that affected pupils and teachers from multiple schools in the area.

The visit comes in the aftermath of the May 15, 2026 attack on Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School, where armed attackers reportedly abducted dozens of students and staff members, sparking widespread concern across the country.

According to reports, the attack occurred when armed men stormed the school premises and forcefully took away pupils and teachers during school hours. The incident immediately threw surrounding communities into panic, with families rushing to schools in search of their children.

The abduction, involving an estimated 45 to 46 victims, quickly gained national attention and triggered renewed calls for improved security in rural and school environments, particularly in areas considered vulnerable to criminal activity.

In response to the incident, the Federal Government deployed a high-powered delegation to the affected communities to assess the situation, engage with residents, and coordinate security efforts.
