Popular Comedian Broda Shaggi Hospitalised After Alleged Shooting in Ogun 


Nigerian comedian and social media sensation Broda Shaggi, whose real name is Samuel Animashaun Perry, has reportedly been hospitalised after sustaining a gunshot injury during an incident in Sango-Ota. The shocking development has sparked widespread concern among fans across Nigeria and beyond, as the popular skit maker is known for his energetic comedy and massive online following.



According to early reports, the incident allegedly occurred under the Sango-Ota bridge while the comedian and his crew were filming a comedy skit. Witnesses said chaos erupted when gunshots were heard in the area. During the confusion, Broda Shaggi reportedly sustained a gunshot injury to the thigh. Members of his team immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention.


He was first taken to Blooming Care Hospital in Alakuko, where doctors stabilised him before he was later transferred to Duchess International Hospital for further treatment. Medical sources say he is currently receiving care and is believed to be in stable condition.

Authorities have begun looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials from the Lagos State Police Command confirmed that the hospital notified them after a gunshot victim was brought in. However, the  Ogun State Police Command said the alleged shooting had not yet been formally reported to them at the time of the initial investigation. Security agencies are expected to determine whether the shooting was linked to criminal activity or another incident.


News of the incident quickly spread across social media, where fans expressed shock and concern for the comedian. Broda Shaggi has built a massive fan base through his unique character-driven comedy and viral skits, making him one of the most recognised entertainers in Nigeria’s digital entertainment space.
