“Our Children Are Dying In The Bush” — Nigerian Mother Cries Out Over Soldiers’ Suffering

A grieving Nigerian mother has sparked widespread emotions after crying out over the condition of soldiers fighting insecurity in the country, claiming that many young men deployed to battle zones are suffering while their families are left in pain and uncertainty. In an emotional outburst that has been circulating online, the woman lamented that her son is currently serving in a conflict zone and that she has not been able to reach him for a long time.

According to her, the situation has become unbearable for families whose children are deployed to dangerous areas across Nigeria.

“Hello Nigerians, leaders of Nigeria, our children are in the bush. I told my son that if he can’t continue, he should come back home,” she said in tears.

The distressed mother further revealed that her husband served in the Nigerian military for 36 years, yet according to her, the benefits owed to him after retirement have not been fully paid. She accused those in power of neglecting the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families.

“My husbandserved in the army for 36 years and they have not paid him his money till today. You people are using our children to make money”, she said.

She also expressed deep concern about the lives of soldiers currently fighting insurgency, saying many of them are suffering in remote battlefields with limited communication with their families.

“My son is suffering in the bush. I can’t reach him, and they are dying there”.

Her emotional plea ended with a prayer for divine justice and protection for the soldiers risking their lives daily

“The God of vengeance will fight for our children. The who defends widows will stand for me and my son in the bush.”

The woman’s statement has reignited public discussions about the welfare of Nigerian soldiers deployed to combat insurgency, banditry, and terrorism in several parts of the country. Many Nigerians have repeatedly called on the government to improve the welfare, equipment, and compensation of military personnel who risk their lives to protect the nation. Families of soldiers have also raised concerns over delayed benefits, poor communication, and the emotional toll of having loved ones serving in dangerous environments.

While the identity of the woman remains unclear, her emotional appeal reflects the fears and struggles shared by many families whose relatives serve in the armed forces. Behind every soldier fighting on the frontline is a family waiting, praying, and hoping for their safe return.

The sacrifices made by Nigerian soldiers and their families cannot be ignored. As insecurity continues to challenge the country, many citizens believe that the welfare of those defending the nation must be treated as a national priority. Ensuring that soldiers are properly supported, equipped, and compensated may not only improve morale but also strengthen the fight against insecurity.
