Lady Sues TikTok Star Peller for N395M After Clash Video Goes Viral

Lagos Woman Sues TikTok Star Peller for N395M Over Viral Clash Video

A Lagos-based woman, Osarobo Odigie, has officially sued popular TikTok content creator Peller,  demanding N395 million in damages following a video he recorded during a public confrontation between them. The incident, which occurred on January 6, 2026, at Folixxx Lounge on Lekki‑Epe Expressway, quickly went viral on social media due to Peller’s massive following, attracting millions of views and igniting online debates.

The woman claims Peller’s actions violated her rights and caused severe emotional and reputational harm. Her legal team has cited: Defamation: The viral video allegedly misrepresented her and damaged her reputation. Cyber Harassment: Online abuse and ridicule followed the video’s circulation. And, Invasion of Privacy: Recording and posting the video without consent infringed on her personal space.

In her claim, she highlighted that she endured threats, public humiliation, and emotional distress due to the viral content.

The total compensation demanded includes, N200M for defamation, N100M for emotional trauma and reputational damage, N75M for cyberbullying and harassment, and N20M to cover legal costs. Additionally, her lawyers have demanded; immediate removal of the video from all platforms, a public apology from Peller, and notices to blogs and third-party platforms to remove reposted content

Peller publicly apologized shortly after the original incident in January, admitting regret over how the situation unfolded. However, Odigie claims the apology was insufficient and has now escalated the matter to formal legal proceedings, insisting her rights must be respected.

The lawsuit has sparked heated debates online, with users divided; some argue that Peller overstepped and violated the woman’s rights. Others contend that the clash was public and sharing the video is part of social media culture.

The case has also raised wider conversations about cyber etiquette, privacy, and the responsibilities of influencers with millions of followers.

This case highlights the importance of consent and accountability in the age of social media. Influencers with massive audiences wield enormous power, and any action that harms someone’s reputation can now have serious legal consequences. It’s also a reminder that digital fame does not exempt anyone from the law, and individuals are entitled to protect their privacy.
