No to War” — Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez Rejects US Pressure Over Iran Strikes

Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Spain has taken a firm stance against military escalation. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has publicly declared “no to war”, rejecting pressure from the United States to support strikes against Iran.

Speaking in a televised address, Sánchez emphasized that Spain would not allow foreign pressure to dictate its foreign policy. He said the country’s commitment to peace, diplomacy, and international law takes precedence over any threats or demands from other governments.

The confrontation arose after the United States reportedly sought access to Spanish military resources for operations related to the recent US-Israeli strikes on Iran. Sánchez made it clear that Spain would not participate in actions that could escalate the conflict.

“Spain will not be complicit in actions that harm the world. Our position is clear: no war”, Sanchez said

The Prime Minister warned that a rush to violence could spiral into a global crisis and stressed that dialogue, negotiation, and adherence to international law are the only sustainable solutions.

His declaration has been widely praised by anti-war advocates and international observers who stress the importance of measured responses to global conflicts.
