Police Service Commission Fixes March 9 for Screening of 50,000 Constable Recruits
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced March 9, 2026, as the commencement date for the physical and credential screening of applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables.
The exercise, conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), is part of efforts to strengthen manpower within the country’s law enforcement system.
According to the Commission, the screening exercise will run nationwide across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Candidates who successfully completed the online registration phase are required to report to designated centres within their respective states.
Applicants are expected to log into the official recruitment portal, confirm their application status, print their invitation slip and present required documents at screening centres
The screening process will include physical evaluation, credential verification, and other assessments to determine eligibility.
However, candidates are typically required to present original and photocopies of academic certificates, birth certificate or age declaration, certificate of origin, national Identity Number (NIN) slip, guarantor’s form and application acknowledgment slip
Failure to present complete documentation may lead to disqualification.
The PSC has reiterated that the recruitment exercise is free of charge. Applicants have been warned to avoid individuals or groups demanding money in exchange for assistance or guaranteed placement. The Commission emphasized that the recruitment process will be merit-based and transparent.
