Gunmen Attack Company in Ogunmakin, Kill Police Officer, Abduct Indian Expatriate

Tension gripped Ogunmakin community, located along the Ibadan axis, after armed men launched a deadly attack on a company operating in the area, resulting in the death of a police officer and the abduction of an Indian expatriate.

According to information gathered, the incident occurred when the gunmen stormed the company premises in a coordinated assault. The attackers reportedly engaged security personnel on duty, during which a police officer assigned to the facility was shot and killed.

Following the shooting, the assailants forcefully took away an Indian national who works with the company. The expatriate was abducted and whisked away to an unknown location, causing panic among staff members and residents in the surrounding area.

Eyewitnesses described the attack as swift and violent, leaving little time for intervention before the gunmen escaped. Workers at the facility were said to have fled for safety as gunshots rang out during the operation.

Security agencies have since launched a manhunt for the attackers. The body of the slain police officer has been recovered, while investigations are ongoing to track down the kidnappers and secure the release of the abducted expatriate.

The incident has once again raised concerns over the safety of workers, especially expatriates, and the growing security challenges around industrial and highway-linked communities in the South-West.

Residents of Ogunmakin are calling on the government and security agencies to strengthen patrols and intelligence gathering in the area to prevent further attacks and restore confidence among businesses operating there.

As of the time of this report, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and authorities have urged members of the public to provide any useful information that could aid ongoing investigations.
