Fire Engulfs First Bank Opposite Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu 

Panic gripped residents and passersby as a fire outbreak was reported at a branch of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, located opposite the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu State. The incident, which occurred suddenly, sent shockwaves through the busy area, with eyewitnesses describing thick smoke and rising flames from the building.


According to early reports; the fire broke out within the bank premises, flames were seen spreading rapidly, people in nearby shops and buildings rushed out for safety, and traffic in the area was disrupted as onlookers gathered. The situation quickly escalated, turning a normal day into a scene of confusion, fear, and urgency.


However, in a commendable move, the Enugu State Fire Service responded promptly to the distress call, arriving at the scene to contain the blaze. Their rapid intervention helped to, prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings, control the intensity of the flames, and reduce the risk of further damage.

As of now, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. However, incidents like this are often linked to, electrical faults, power surges, generator-related issues, or internal technical malfunctions. 

Authorities are expected to conduct a full investigation to determine the cause.
